Who Doesn't Like The Flaming Lips
ah yes, the flaming lips who came to my attention when nirvana covered their tune, 'She Don't Use Jelly'.
And then of course there was 'Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots' which cemented their reputation in my delirious brain. YBTPR was released almost 3 years ago and I still listen to it with surprise and some drooling admiration.
Loitering in the stacks at Virgin, which appears to be receiving a makeover now that they've been acquired by HMV, I found 'Video Overview in Deceleration'. It's a compilation of their videos from 1992-2005 remastered in 5.1 Surround Sound. Oh baby, I have been flaminglipsened. No longer just a fan I am now redeemed in the sound which is theflaminglips, bojibbety. I fully expect it to wear off at some point. Hopefully before I quit my job and follow the band and wayne coyne around the multiverse professing my undying, flailing, suppurating devotion.
